Update on Andy

I visited Andy at UAB last night, he anticipates being discharged Saturday. He had surgery Tuesday morning to repair a fractured acetabulum (socket that the femoral head fits into). The surgeon stated the the surgery was a success and expects close to 100% recovery. Andy is in good spirits considering the severity of the injury, the pain, and the long road to recovery he faces. We are fortunate to have a close knit cycling group in Birmingham, now is a great time to display your compassion and concern for a fellow rider–it could have been any one of us.
